Questions about Vivids?
I'm here to help answer the most common ones!

"What's a 'Vivid Root Retouch'? Why does it matter on the length of root when I come in?"

A Vivid Root Retouch is an direct on-scalp lightening/bleaching of the natural hair, and then applying a vivid deposit-only color.

Due to the heat zone that comes from the scalp, it effects how it processes - so I recommend no more than 1" inch (average 8 weeks) of new growth.

But, I'm realistic! I understand things happen and our roots sometimes come last. The longer your roots are, the longer the appointment will be to ensure there is no unevenness or discoloration for future appointments.

This is a service for clients whom:

  • Want to be vivid from roots to ends and do not like seeing any of their natural hair (yes even gray!).

  • Like to change hair color often.

  • Maximum vibrancy.

This is NOT for clients whom:

  • Have scalp sensitivity/allergies.

  • Extremely weak/fragile hair.

  • Do not want to have an every 8 week or less commitment.

"How long do these colors last?"

Results can vary from 6-12 weeks or longer!

It's depends on how much pigment is going into your hair, what colors, and how you care for it. Each client will be educated at their consultation on knowing what to expect for the colors desired.

"What will ruin my color?"

Drugstore products, poor water quality, excessive washing, long sun exposure, constant heat tools, pool/salt water will drastically shorten your color's lifespan.

Every client will be educated on how to properly care for their hair and product recommendations, as it is an investment and important to know!

"What if I just want to refresh my vivid?"

You can come in at any time to refresh your vivid! It will not hurt your hair. Shifting the tones to other colors is one of my absolute favorite things to do!

"Who is an ideal candidate for Vivids?"

All hair types and genders.

I currently do not take clients under the age of 12 years old for these processes.

If you have previous dark box color, brittle, weakened hair this may prolong the journey + alternatives will be suggested until it is safe to proceed.

"What's a 'Low Maintenance Vivid?' "

A Low Maintenance Vivid is an off-scalp foiling service that insures a seamless grow-out and then applying Vivid deposit-only color.

This is for all my 'lower commitment' vivid clients who only want to get their hair lifted 3-4x a year!

This is a service for clients whom:

  • Have scalp sensitivity/allergies.

  • Like seeing their natural base and having dimensional colors throughout.

  • Love having their hair fade to various tonalities.

  • Extremely weak/fragile hair.

This is NOT for clients whom:

  • Hate seeing their roots.

  • Want to be vivid completely and do not like seeing any of their natural hair.

  • Don't like their hair to fade too much.

"Why are Vivids so expensive?"

I love this question! Vivids are not known to be a "luxury service" due to the way they are perceived.

"Double process" means 2 appointments in 1! So the time is doubled.  Each client has a customized experience and pricing will vary on the complexity involved.

Knowing color fundamentals, precise application, knowing how to lift the hair properly without over lapping and achieving the proper foundation is all crucial and it is my mission to not take any short cuts for the end result.

"Won't bleach damage my hair?"

Bleach sounds scary, doesn't it?

I do my part to ensure your hair is lifted properly, slowly, + carefully, but you have to do your part at home to keep it healthy!

I give all my clients the guidance and knowledge to keep their hair healthy and happy in between appointments.
